SPRYE, a not-for-profit organization that assists older adults age in place in Westchester County seeks an experienced person to provide technical support customer service to its membership base.
The candidate should have knowledge of smart devices and able to teach and explain in non-tech language on how to use smart devices. A minimum of five years’ experience working in the IT environment is desired and a teaching background is a plus.
This program is new initiative launched in 2021 to help connect older adults to the world
Core Responsibilities
- Help, assist, train and teach older adults how to use their personal technology devices to connect with family, friends and/or their doctors
Skills Needed:
· Knowledge and understanding of personal computing options (smartphones, tablets, laptops, desktops, etc.)
· Experience using different operating systems, communication and collaboration tools (i.e. Zoom, Skype), and office suites.
· Experience with electronic device connections, set up, configuration and operation.
· Understanding and ability to troubleshoot home network issues.
· Experience in providing personal training to novice users
· Strong written and oral communication skills and effective interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
· Experience in working with older adults desirable.

SPRYE Job Description/Part-Time Administrative Assistant
SPRYE, a not-for-profit organization that serves older adults in Port Chester, Harrison, Rye, and Rye Brook, seeks an experienced and technically capable Administrative Assistant to support the Executive Director, volunteers, and members.
Overall Proficiency in database management (CRM); Word; Excel; PowerPoint, Outlook, internet, social media posting and preferably QuickBooks.
Specific Duties include, but not limited to:
Entering donations and producing reports in the database and generating follow-up
Assisting with composing and editing correspondence letters to donors
Letter and email merging in Excel
Entering services that volunteers provide to members (data entry)
Printing reports, mailing lists, and labels for fundraising mailings
Assisting Director in reviewing and editing with social media postings
Filing letters, copies of monthly expenses for accountant
Assisting in the preparation for organization’s yearly audit
Ordering office supplies
Answering phone calls from members requesting rides and arranging said rides
Demonstrating a desire to serve older adults who wish to age in place in their homes.
Seeking an opportunity to grow with a young, grassroots organization
Flexible hours but generally 10:00 to 2:00 during the week. The office is open 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. College degree is desirable.
Attention to detail is a must, along with excellent writing skills and pleasant phone manner.
Days and hours can be flexible but must meet the needs of the director and the office.
Pay will be commensurate with experience. Access to a car reimbursed for miles driven.
